Khamzat Chimaev teases a fight with Colby Covington could be next

Conor McGregor vs Michael Chandler Officially Announced For UFC 303, Will Take Place At Welterweight

Despite just days ago teasing a move up in weight classes to middleweight, Khamzat Chimaev has today suggested that he could be fighting Colby Covington next at 170 pounds.

UFC 279 fight week was an extremely eventful week for Chimaev as he was involved in backstage scuffles with both Nate Diaz and Kevin Holland and he also failed to make the welterweight weight limit by 7.5 pounds for his originally scheduled fight against Nate Diaz.

Due to Chimaev weighing in so much over the weight limit for his scheduled fight with Diaz, the top three fights on the card were all reshuffled and Chimaev ended up fighting Kevin Holland in a 180 pound catchweight bout and Diaz ended up fighting Tony Ferguson in a welterweight bout.

Speculation following UFC 279 from both media and even Chimaev himself suggested that Chimaev's future would be in the middleweight division due to his weight struggles, this makes him teasing a fight with Colby Covington today even more unusual.

Fans certainly would not be complaining if the fight between Chimaev and Covington was made as it would be a phenomenal fight.

Aspen Ladd released from the UFC

UFC women's bantamweight fighter Aspen Ladd has officially been released from the promotion.

Ladd's release doesn't really come to much of a surprise as she is quite an unreliable fighter when it comes to making weight.

Ladd has had multiple fights in the UFC cancelled the day before the fight or the day of the fight due to her facing health issues caused by her weight cuts.

Bo Nickal earns a UFC contract in dominating fashion

Bo Nickal competed for the second time this season on Dana White's Contender Series and once again he finished the fight in dominating fashion.

Nickal dropped his opponent Donovan Beard with a big overhand left and then proceeded to finish the fight with a perfectly executed triangle choke.

Even though Nickal is just three fights into his professional MMA career, it is clear to see that he is a very special talent and has a big future ahead of him in the UFC.

In his first three professional bouts, Nickal has two submission finishes and a knockout win with a combined fight time of just two minutes and 27 seconds.

Dana White announces that Bo Nickal and Raul Rosas Jr will both be added to the EA Sports UFC 3 video game
