Kiefer Crosbie Gets $500 Fine For Flipping Off Opponent At Bellator 240

Kiefer Crosbie competed at Bellator 240, scoring a split decision victory over Iamik Furtado, but that win didn’t come without some controversy.

A victorious Crosbie could be seen flipping off his opponent during their battle and MMA Fighting is reporting that Crosbie has been fined $500 for that disrespectful action.

”This is a minimal fine compared to one that would be given for an NFL game on Sunday,” Mohegan Tribe Department of Athletic Regulation Executive Director Mike Mazzulli said. “We’re a mainstream sport, and we have to treat it like one.”

The event was overseen by the Mohegan Tribe Department of Athletic Regulation since Ireland doesn't have their own athletic commission.

Things could’ve been a lot worse for Crosbie, who was initially going to be fined $2,500 for using abusive language during the bout, but Crosbie was only fined $500 after apologizing to his opponent for using such language.

Crosbie has gone 4-1-0 thus far in Bellator MMA (8-1-0 overall), with those wins coming over Orlando D’Ambrosio, Daniel Olejniczak, Hugo Pereira and the aforementioned Furtado.
