Kosei Tanaka Vacates WBO Flyweight Title, PBC On FS1 2/1 Ratings | Fight-Size Boxing Update

Here's your fight-size boxing update for February 4, 2020:

- Kosei Tanaka has announced he is vacating the WBO flyweight title in order to move up in weight and become a four-division titlist. Tanaka is the WBO “Super Champion” which means he could request the WBO to name him the mandatory challenger to Kazuto Ioka’s super flyweight title.

- The February 1 PBC on FS1 card headlined by Yordenis Ugas vs. Mike Dallas Jr. averaged 324,000 viewers (129,000 in the 18-49 demo) and drew a 0.21 household rating (0.10 in 18-49 demo). The prelim card, which also aired on FS1, drew 205,000 viewers a 0.05 rating in 18-49 demo.

- The WBC has suspended Alejandra Jimenez's recognition as the super middleweight world champion while it investigates an adverse finding in a VADA drug test from January 10. Jimenez has requested that her "B" sample be examined and the container will be opened on February 19.

- PBC announced that Efe Ajagba will take on Razvan Cojanu in the co-main event fight of the March 7 PBC on FOX card from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn. PBC also announced the non-televised undercard and these are the fights confirmed:

  • Zachary Ochoa vs. TBA
  • Robert Alfonso vs. Carlos Negron
  • Steven Torres vs. TBA
  • Francis Hogan (pro debut) vs. TBA

- Joe Goossen, Marcos Villegas join the Inside PBC Boxing crew for a PBC roundtable.

- Hopey Price will not fight on the February 8 Matchroom Boxing card from Sheffield, England due to an elbow injury.
