Kyoji Horiguchi Headlines Rizin 15, 205 Pound Champion To Be Crowned As Well

The two featured bouts of Rizin 15 has been announced as bantamweight champion Kyoji Horiguchi faces Ben Nguyen in a non-title affair, while King Mo faces Jiri Prochazka for the vacant light heavyweight title.

Horiguchi (26-2-0) became the Rizin Bantamweight Champion with a third round submission win over Bellator MMA Bantamweight Champion Darrion Caldwell at Rizin 14. Horiguchi had previously challenged for the UFC Flyweight Title, losing to then champion Demetrious Johnson at UFC 186.

Nguyen (16-8-0) is competing for the first time since getting cut by the UFC, which came after a loss to Wilson Reis at UFC Fight Night Adelaide. Nguyen picked up a 4-3-0 record while competing under the UFC banner, but hasn’t win a fight in well over a year.

Mo (21-8-0-1NC) enters the contest while in the midst of a two fight losing streak and he hasn’t picked up a win in almost two years. Mo has fought Prochazka before, defeating him by first round knockout at Rizin: Iza No Mai.

Prochazka (23-3-1) enters the contest on a seven fight winning streak and he hasn’t suffered a defeat in over three years. Prochazka has fought twenty seven times as a professional MMA fighter and has only seen one of his bouts go the distance.

Rizin 15 takes place on Sunday, April 21 from the Yokohama Arena in Yokohama, Japan with Kyoji Horiguchi and Ben Nguyen headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, while broadcast plans have yet to be announced.
