Luke Rockhold Wants To Fight Jon Jones

Former UFC Middleweight Champion Luke Rockhold recently announced that he was moving up a weight class to the UFC Light Heavyweight Division.

Jon Jones is the current ruler of that weight class and that is exactly who Rockhold would like to fight, as Rockhold issued the champ the following warning.

“Just hold tight,” Rockhold said to TMZ Sports. “I’m coming, princess.”

Rockhold has yet to announce when his light heavyweight debut will take place, but the former champion did earn a record of 6-3-0 as a middleweight in the UFC.

The light heavyweight divisions newest member also checked out Jones’ last performance at UFC 232, but wasn’t impressed by what he saw.

“I thought he looked beatable,” Rockhold said. “He’s good on the feet, he’s tactical, Jon, he adjusts and he fights to his advantages. I like my advantages versus his. He’s great, he’s good everywhere, but I don’t think he’s the most technical on the feet. I don’t think he’s got the most power. I’m a different man at this weight, the power behind me. I’m moving up to get after him, so that’s what I’m here for.”

Jones has stated that he would like to fight three times this year, meaning Rockhold may get the opportunity to fight the light heavyweight champion by the time 2019 comes to a close.
