Matt Brown Out, Bryan Barberena To Now Face Darian Weeks At UFC Vegas 44

At first heading into Las Vegas without an opponent, Bryan Barberena will look to get back to his winning ways against Darian Weeks.

The UFC recently announced that Barberena will face Weeks, who is replacing Matt Brown, at UFC Vegas 44. Brown tested positive for COVID-19, taking him out of the fight. UFC Vegas 44 takes place inside the UFC APEX Center in Las Vegas on December 4.

Weeks, 28, made his MMA debut in 2019. His last fight was a boxing bout in April, losing to Tony Woods via split decision. Making his UFC debut, Weeks is 5-0 in MMA action, with only one of those wins going the distance.

Barberena made his MMA debut in 2009. Fighting for King of the Cage and Dakota FC, Barberena came to the UFC in 2014. He is 5-6 with the promotion, his last fight a majority decision loss in July against Jason Witt.

The main event of UFC Vegas 44 will be a bantamweight bout featuring Rob Font v. Jose Aldo.
