McGregor Wasn’t Prepared For First Press Conference Stop

UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather appeared at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California for the first stop in a four city press tour.

McGregor admitted that he wasn’t prepared for a boxing press conference, as he was accustomed to the UFC style of press conferences.

“I wasn’t sure what to expect,” McGregor told ESPN. “The format is a lot different. They were very vague on the details; it was speeches and all that. People were getting up with full speeches and I was like, ‘what the f-ck is this?’ I didn’t even know who they were! Some guy with a grey afro that was talking and I was like, ‘who the f-ck is that?!’”

While he was unprepared on the first stop of the press tour, the fighter is still prepared to defeat Mayweather.

“I believe so (that he can finish Mayweather),” McGregor said. “His little head and my big fist. They don’t go together.”

Conor McGregor versus Floyd Mayweather takes place on Saturday, August 26 from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
