Michael Bisping Claims Conor McGregor Was Set To Make Huge Announcement During UFC 223

Former UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor and his companions attacked a bus full of UFC stars days before UFC 223, allegedly wanting to get physical with UFC Lightweight Champion Khabib Nurmagomedov.

Michael Bisping is a former UFC Middleweight Champion and he now claims that McGregor was set to make a big announcement during UFC 223, but the bus attacked ruined the whole thing.

“By all accounts, Conor was going to be at the Barclays Center on Saturday night to make an announcement,” Bisping said on Believe You Me. “It was going to be a title fight or whatever the fight was going to be, I’m sworn to secrecy so I can’t say but he was going to be there.”

There were reports that McGregor was going to face former UFC Lightweight Champion Rafael Dos Anjos at a future UFC event for the vacant UFC Interim Welterweight Title. Colby Covington now has that slot and he faces Dos Anjos for the gold in the co-main event of UFC 225.

It is unknown at this time as to exactly what that announcement would’ve been or if there actually was going to be one during UFC 223 weekend.

McGregor did turn himself into the authorities for the bus attack and was released on bail, but the UFC has yet to punish the Irishman for the bus attack.
