Michael Santiago Facing Mads Burnell At UFC Fight Night St. Louis

A featherweight division attraction is coming to the UFC Fight Night St. Louis event as Michael Santiago is in action against Mads Burnell.

Santiago (19-10-0) is currently winless under the UFC banner, dropping a bout to Zabit Magomedsharipov at UFC Fight Night Gdansk. Santiago also competed on Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series, defeating Mark Cherico by knockout at DWTNCS Episode 7. Santiago has suffered a total of ten losses as a professional MMA fighter, with five of those losses coming to UFC veterans.

Burnell (8-2-0) is also winless thus far in UFC competition, dropping a fight to Michel Prazeres at UFC Fight Night Rotterdam. Burnell is going to be making his North American MMA debut in this fight, despite having been a pro MMA fighter for over four years now. Burnell spent his entire amateur MMA career competing in the Fighter Gala promotion, winning three of four fights there.

UFC Fight Night St. Louis takes place on Sunday, January 14 from the Scottrade Center in St. Louis, Missouri with no main event announced at this time. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on Fox Sports 1.
