Michelle Waterson Wants A Rematch With Rose Namajunas

Michelle Waterson is back in the Octagon at UFC Fight Night Philadelphia, facing Karolina Kowalkiewicz in a women’s strawweight division attraction.

One thing that Waterson wants to come out of this fight with is the win, which she believes will translate to a rematch with UFC Women’s Strawweight Champion Rose Namajunas.

“I would love to run that one back 100 percent,” Waterson said at the UFC Fight Night Philadelphia open workouts (via Mike Bohn of MMA Junkie).

Namajunas and Waterson first met back at UFC On Fox 24 in April of 2017, a fight that was won by Namajunas via second round submission.

Waterson knows that she must get past Kowalkiewicz first and the fighter knows that Kowalkiewicz is going to be a tough challenge.

“You learn a lot from fighters by the way they react to losses, and every time Karolina has lost she’s come back stronger,” Waterson said. “I’m expecting a stronger Karolina who is prepared for those heavy shots and I’m excited to go in there and rise to the occasion be victorious.”

UFC Fight Night Philadelphia takes place on Saturday, March 30 from the Wells Fargo Arena in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania with Edson Barboza and Justin Gaethje headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on ESPN.
