Miesha Tate Criticizes Conor McGregor After Phone Smashing Incident

Former two division UFC champion Conor McGregor was arrested earlier this week after allegedly destroying the cell phone of Ahmed Abdirzak.

Miesha Tate is a former UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion and she isn’t very happy with the recent actions of McGregor.

“He is a megastar. He has made himself into one of the most recognizable faces … and he’s making millions and millions and millions of dollars. He’s created that,” Tate said on MMA Tonight (via Simon Samano of MMA Junkie). “So, what I think is that this fan was out of line. He was disrespectful and probably should’ve had a little more common sense to respect the space of Conor. With that being said, I guarantee you that guy’s bought every single one of Conor McGregor’s pay-per-views. So figure it out, Conor. Do you appreciate your fans, all of them, the ones that are making you rich, or not? Blow the guy off. That’s kind of what you have to do. It’s the price of fame.”

The UFC star has since been released from jail after paying the bond and is due back in court on April 10 for arraignment.

McGregor recently finished up serving a community service sentence in the state of New York for the UFC 223 bus attack and is also in the midst of serving a six month suspension for his role in the UFC 229 post-fight brawl.
