Miesha Tate Wishes Cyborg Would’ve Punched Magana Harder

It is common knowledge by now that former Invicta FC Featherweight Champion in Cristiane "Cyborg" Justino clocked Angela Magana at the UFC fighters retreat.

According to retired former UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion Miesha Tate, the Brazilian should have punched Magana harder.

“That was a great day for me, I thought it was wonderful,” Tate said at a UFC 212 media event. “I wish she would have punched Angela harder. Angela is a bully, you know? She’s like a child who never grew up.”

Tate has never fought Cyborg or Magana during her professional MMA career, but did retire after a loss to Raquel Pennington at UFC 205.

The former women’s bantamweight champion doesn’t believe Cyborg should face any sort of punishment for her actions, and will support Cyborg all the way.

“I hope that the legal system looks at everything, because [Magana] really had it coming,” Tate said. “So I’m Team Cyborg all the way with that.”

Although Tate did retire at UFC 205, the former champion remains active as a UFC ambassador, with UFC 212 serving as just her latest appearance for the promotion. As for Cyborg and Magana, the Brazilian is competing at UFC 214, while Magana’s next move isn’t known at this time.
