Mike Perry is building the ultimate cornering team consisting of his girlfriend and a completely random person.
Perry (14-6) took to Twitter on Sunday and announced he would give a cornering spot to whoever coughed up the most money. Forget other valuable qualities like coaching experience or fight skills, the only thing "Platinum" values is that moolah.
Whoever gives me the most money can be in my corner with @latory_g ,...— Platinum Mike Perry (@PlatinumPerry) October 4, 2020
Perry's unorthodox approach to cornering has not hindered him yet. The one-of-a-kind personality beat Mickey Gall via unanimous decision on June 27 with only his girlfriend, Latory Gonzalez, in his corner. The tweet has generated plenty of replies with potentially genuine offers between $250 and $500 with more egregious offers upwards of $10,000.
Perry is currently scheduled to fight former UFC welterweight champion Robbie Lawler at UFC 255 on November 21. The card is headlined by UFC flyweight champion Deiveson Figueiredo vs. Alex Perez. The co-main event pits UFC women's flyweight champ Valentina Shevchenko against Jennifer Maia.
