Israel Adensanya Brings A Pizza to Weigh Ins

There has been a lot of talk in the lead up to Adesanya's light heavyweight debut regarding how much he would weigh. He told Ariel Helwani of ESPN that he could come in as light as 193 pounds. Adesanya ended up weighing in at 200.5 pounds- the second lightest weigh-in weight for a light heavyweight championship fight.

As a nod to his approach, Adesanya brought a pizza box. As it turns out, this isnt the first time Adesanya brought food to weigh ins. A much younger Adesanya looked happy weighing in with a dozen doughnuts ahead of a King in the Ring fight in 2015 which he remained victorious in.

Among his thoughts, he even mentioned asking Adesanya to help him with his first training camp against Jon Jones. This was before Israel was in the UFC, yet he had the foresight to turn Cormier down since he knew D.C.'s close friend and training partner was the middleweight champion of the time Luke Rockhold.

Dana White confirmed that a contender fight is in the works for Dillashaw, who is returning from a two year suspension. Sandhagen, the no. 2 bantamweight, is riding high after back to back highlight reel knockouts and confirms that a possible matchup between himself and the former bantamweight champ is a strong possibility.
