FOX is ready to return to New York for a Premier Boxing Champions Card.
PBC announced an August 4 card from Nassau Coliseum headlined by a welterweight clash between former world champion Andre Berto and Devon Alexander. Former WBO middleweight world champion Peter Quillin will fight J'Leon Love in a super middleweight fight as the co-main event fight.
Both Berto and Alexander are currently at a crossroads in their career. The 34-year-old Berto is a former IBF and WBC welterweight champion, but has lost two of his last three fights. Berto's last fight took place in April 2017, losing to Shawn Porter in a WBC welterweight title eliminator that headlined a Barclays Center card televised on Showtime.
Alexander, a former unified junior welterweight and IBF welterweight champion, has also not had much in-ring success in the last few years, winning just one of his last four fights. His last fight took place in February, when he fought Victor Ortiz to a draw in a PBC on FOX-televised bout.
Not only will the main card be televised, but a pair of undercard fights will also be televised on FS2. Undefeated light heavyweight contender Marcus Browne will fight Lenin Costallo in the main event of the FS2 with Luis Collazo facing Bryant Perella in the opening bout. Browne, who sports a 21-0 record as a pro, is coming off a first-round TKO win over Francy Ntetu on the undercard of the January 20 Barclays Center card headlined by Errol Spence Jr. vs. Lamont Peterson.
