Nik Lentz Promises To End BJ Penn’s Professional MMA Career

Former two division UFC champion BJ Penn and Nik Lentz will collide in a lightweight division bout later this year.

If there is one gone that Lentz wants to accomplish against his longtime rival, it would be to end Penn’s career.

”The guy hasn’t won a fight since we went to war in Iraq,” Lentz said on Ariel Helwani’s MMA Show (via Milan Ordonez of Bloody Elbow). “It’s ridiculous. But I’m going to end his career. I’m going to do him a favor.”

Penn hasn’t won a fight in almost nine years and he will enter the bout with Lentz while in the midst of a seven bout losing streak.

Lentz and Penn have been rivals for years now, but Lentz says Penn took things too far when he started posting things on Lentz’s wife’s Instagram page.

“He comes to my Instagram all the time, and when I don’t respond to him he goes on my wife’s Instagram to tell her to tell me to respond to him,” Lentz said. ”The guy is a whack job. He has been allowed to be this bad person his entire life because he was good at something. That’s just how it is in America. If you are good at fighting, or you’re good at sports, you can catch a ball, you can be as much of a dirtbag as you want.”

There is no word yet on when the bout will take place, but MMA Fighting did report awhile back that UFC 242 could be a landing place.
