Nordine Taleb Says Latest Win Saved His Job

Nordine Taleb competed on the preliminary card of UFC Fight Night Ottawa, scoring a unanimous decision win over Kyle Prepolec.

This wasn’t just an ordinary win for Taleb, as the fighter believes the victory saved his job with the UFC.

“Definitely (it saved my job),” Taleb said after the event (via Mike Bohn of MMA Junkie). “It was two losses in a row, and we’ve seen in the past sometimes people don’t get third chances to fight. I’ve never refused a fight. I always show up in shape, I never swear, and I think I have a good attitude as a fighter, so that’s why they like me and gave me another opportunity.”

Taleb does hold a 7-4-0 record under the UFC banner and is a former cast member of the UFC Ultimate Fighter 19.

One thing that Taleb also admits is that the win over Prepolec wasn’t a huge one in the end.

“No, it’s not a big win for me,” Taleb said. “He’s a tough fighter, and he will prove it in the future. He’s a very good fighter, he’s legit, but for me, at this moment, it’s not a huge win. But I had to win, anyway, to put myself back in the win streak. It’s a win. It kept me active and on to the next.”

It is unknown at this time as to when Taleb will fight next, as he remains unranked in the welterweight division at this time.
