“The (NYSAC) has completed out-of-competition testing for the Sonnen-Silva bout at (Bellator NYC) and looks forward to Saturday night,” NYSAC representative Laz Benitez said to MMA Junkie.

Sonnen and Silva were originally supposed to meet at UFC 175 a few years back, but both fighters were pulled from the fight. Sonnen was pulled from the fight after failed a drug test from the Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC), while Silva was suspended by the NSAC for allegedly running from an out of competition test.

There weren’t that many out of competition tests done prior to Bellator 180 because “the promoter has not provided any funding for out-of-competition testing, and the commission has not requested any funding for such.”

Bellator 180 takes place on Saturday, June 24 from Madison Square Garden in New York, New York with Chael Sonnen and Wanderlei Silva headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow the next day.
