Paulo Costa is putting in work ahead of his UFC middleweight title fight against Israel Adesanya at UFC 253.
The challenger recently posted a three-plus minute video of his training sessions on Youtube ahead of the title fight. In the video showing, Costa lands 23 kicks in just 12 seconds.
“I bring the pro fighters to do real sparring with me,” Costa said in the video (via Jesse Holland of MMA Mania). “So I believe I don’t need to protect them. God is who protects us. I have been training since I did the surgery one year ago. I’m like a beast now, just hungry and obsessed.”
Costa has earned 11 of his 13 professional MMA wins by way of KO/TKO. Some of Costa’s notable victis include Oluwale Bamgbose, Johny Hendricks and Uriah Hall.
UFC 253 takes place on Saturday, September 19 from the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada. Adesanya and Costa will headline the pay-per-view card. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event.
