PFL 13 Weigh-In Results: Alexandre Bezerra Hospitalized, Three Fighters Removed

MMA

The PFL’s 2nd season is officially underway and with the weigh-ins now complete, its 2nd show is only a day away too.

However, not all of the event’s card will take place after all, with three Brazilians now removed from the event. Alexandre Bezerra was scheduled for a Featherweight fight with Jeremy Kennedy but weighed in at 155 lbs, telling MMA Fighting that he passed out while cutting weight. As a result, he was taken to the hospital by his coach.

Luis Rafael Laurentino will serve as Bezerra’s replacement, taking on Kennedy after his own opponent, Alexandre Almeida, missed weight by one pound. Ronys Torres was also pulled from the event, not receiving clearance from the New York State Athletic Commission. The reasons for that remain undisclosed but Torres’ opponent, Ramsey Nijam, will be awarded three points in the PFL system as a result.

This particular PFL event is headlined by Lance Palmer vs. Alex Gilpin and will air on ESPN+. Palmer is the current 145 lbs champion, winning last year’s tournament with a decision win over Steven Siler. That was Palmer’s 2nd victory over Siler and his 6th win in a row since losing the then WSOF Title back in 2017.
