Pitbull Brothers Help 1-Year-Old Boy Get Life Saving Treatment

The Pitbull Brothers may do a lot of destruction inside of the Bellator cage, but they also help a lot of people outside of it.

That?s because Patricio Pitbull and Patricky Pitbull recently helped raise funds to give a one-year-old boy some life saving medical treatment. Arthur Ferreira Belo suffers from Type 1 spinal muscular atrophy, which according to a website created in the boy?s name, is ?a rare genetic disease, characterized by weakness and muscular atrophy, followed by fasciculations severely compromising mobility during an early stage.?

Medical treatment, which must be administered before Arthur turns two years old to be effective, costs approximately $12 million Reais or $2.18 million USD. The Pitbull Brothers caught word about what was going down and that?s when they decided to step in and help the young boy.

?Me and my brother felt compassionate,? Patricio told MMA Junkie. ?It felt like we had a duty to pass the message along and help him because he has a degenerative disease on his spine. The medicine he (needed) to take costs $2 million. If he doesn?t take it before he turns two years old, it?s not effective. We tried to help as best as we can. Ever since we put out the video, we got one million more Reais and $100 thousand (USD) donated.?

Despite the best efforts from The Pitbull Brothers and others, the goal wasn?t met because they were $9 million Raeis short ($1.6 million USD). A Brazilian court ruled that the government was responsible to pick up the rest of the bill and Arthur will get his life-saving treatment.

Donations are still being accepted for Arthur by clicking here, with all funds collected going to help Arthur with his day to day challenges.
