Ray Borg Announces Retirement, Moving Onto Next Chapter In His Life

Ray Borg was released from the UFC earlier this month, which spelled the end of his UFC tenure and professional MMA career.

The fighter has taken to Instagram to announce that he has retired from professional MMA competition:

 

Borg went 13-5-0 as a professional MMA fighter, earning notable victories over Shane Howell, Louis Smolka, Jussier Formiga, Gabriel Silva and Rogerio Bontorin. Borg challenged for the UFC flyweight title in the co-main event of UFC 216, suffering a fifth round submission loss to then champion Demetrious Johnson. Borg?s last professional MMA bout came at UFC Fight Night: Smith vs. Teixeira, suffering a split decision loss to Ricky Simon.
