Report: Alex Perez Injured, Off UFC Fight Night Mexico City

Alex Perez has suffered an injury and has been pulled off of next month’s UFC Fight Night Mexico City card, where he was scheduled to face Sergio Pettis.

Im so heartbroken to announce that I have to pull out of my fight in September. Due to a injury. This was a hard decision but can’t risk injuring myself more. UFC officials are seeking a replacement fighter for Pettis to compete against, as he is expected to remain on the card at this time.

Pettis (17-5-0) is going to enter the bout while in the midst of a two fight losing streak, dropping bouts to the duo of Jussier Formiga and Rob Font.

UFC Fight Night Mexico City takes place on Saturday, September 21 from the Arena Ciudad de Mexico in Mexico City, Mexico with Yair Rodriguez and Jeremy Stephens headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which streams live on ESPN+.
