A bantamweight division attraction has been added to UFC 247 as Andre Ewell is in action against Jonathan Martinez.
Mike Heck of BJPenn.com first reported the bout, but its placement on the card isn’t known at the moment.
Ewell (15-6-0) has won two of four under the UFC banner, with those wins coming over Renan Barao and Anderson Dos Santos. Ewell has competed four times in the UFC thus far and all of those bouts made it into the third round. Ewell has suffered six losses as a professional MMA fighter and three of them came by way of submission.
Martinez (11-2-0) has won two of three thus far in the UFC, with those wins coming over the duo of Wuliji Buren and Pingyuan Liu. Martinez hasn’t suffered a defeat in over a year, with that last loss coming to Andre Soukhamthath at UFC Fight Night Hamburg. Martinez has competed thirteen times as a professional MMA fighter and just four of those bouts went the distance.
UFC 247 takes place on Saturday, February 7 from the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas with Jon Jones and Dominick Reyes headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
