A middleweight division attraction has been added to UFC Fight Night: Lewis vs. Oleinik as Andrew Sanchez faces Wellington Turman.
Combate first reported the news, but the bouts spot on the card isn’t known at this time.
Sanchez (11-5-0) has won two of his last three under the UFC banner, with those wins coming over Markus Perez and Marc-Andre Barriault. Sanchez has competed as both a light heavyweight and middleweight in the UFC, earning a record of 4-3-0 in the promotion. Sanchez was also the light heavyweight winner of the UFC Ultimate Fighter 23, defeating Khalil Rountree in the finals.
Turman (16-3-0) has won just one of two thus far in the UFC, with that lone win coming over the aforementioned Perez at UFC Fight Night Sao Paulo. Turman hasn’t suffered a defeat in just about a year, with that last loss coming to Karl Roberson at UFC Fight Night Sacramento. Turman has picked up sixteen wins as a professional MMA fighter and seven of them came by way of submission.
UFC Fight Night: Lewis vs. Oleinik takes place on Saturday, August 8 from the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada with Derrick Lewis and Aleksei Oleinik headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, while broadcast plans have yet to be announced.
