Coach Duke Roufus told ESPN that Pettis suffered the broken foot in the opening round of the bout, but the exact moment the injury happened is unknown at this time. It is unknown at this time just how serious the broken foot is or how long the injury is expected to keep Pettis out of the Octagon for.

Roufus also revealed that the broken foot may require surgery, but more is going to be known when the fighter returns home to Milwaukee.

The former UFC Lightweight Champion has rotated wins and losses in his last nine bouts and UFC 241 was the first time Pettis was defeated as a welterweight.
