A middleweight division attraction has been added to UFC Fight Night Rochester according to Raphael Marinho of Combate as #12 Antonio Carlos Jr is in action against Ian Heinisch.
Carlos Jr (10-2-0-1NC) enters the contest while in the midst of a five fight winning streak, last defeating Tim Boetsch by first round submission at UFC On Fox 29. Carlos Jr hasn’t suffered a defeat in over three years, with that last loss coming to Daniel Kelly at UFC Fight Night 85. Carlos Jr was also the winner of the UFC Ultimate Fighter Brazil 3, defeating Vitor Miranda in the finals of the reality show.
Heinisch (12-1-0) is undefeated thus far under the UFC banner, having defeated Cezar Ferreira by unanimous decision at UFC Fight Night Buenos Aires. Heinisch also competed on Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series Episode 15, defeating Justin Sumter by first round knockout. Heinisch has suffered just a single defeat as a professional MMA fighter and that came to fellow UFC fighter Markus Perez at LFA 22.
UFC Fight Night Rochester takes place on Saturday, May 18 from the Blue Cross Arena in Rochester, New York with Rafael Dos Anjos and Kevin Lee headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which streams live on ESPN+.
