Report: Bellator MMA Cuts Nine Fighters, Chidi Njokuani Among Them

The Bellator MMA roster has gotten a lot slimmer recently as the promotion has reportedly cut nine fighters according to The MMA Report. Among those that have been cut by the promotion include Chidi Njokuani, Hisaki Kato, Noad Lahat, Chris Honeycutt, Jarod Trice, J.J. Ambrose, Carrington Banks, Mohammad Yahya and Nathan Greyson.

Nokuani (18-7-0-1NC, 5-3-0 Bellator) leaves the promotion on a two fight losing streak, but did headline four of the eight Bellator cards he competed on.

Kato (8-3-0, 4-2-0 Bellator) hasn’t competed in the promotion since December of 2017 and he hasn’t picked up a win in over two years. 

Lahat (13-4-0, 4-2-0 Bellator MMA) exits the promotion after getting a win, which came over Brian Moore at Bellator 210

Honeycutt (11-3-0-1NC, 7-3-0-1NC Bellator) has the most fights in Bellator MMA when compared to the other fighters who were cut by the promotion.

Trice (4-0-0, 4-0-0 Bellator MMA) has spent his entire professional MMA career, which began in December of 2016, competing in Bellator MMA.

Ambrose (28-8-0-2NC, 1-3-0 Bellator) picked up his lone win in the promotion by defeating Brian Warren by second round submission at Bellator 85. 

Banks (8-2-0, 3-2-0 Bellator) has already competed once since his last appearance in Bellator MMA, which was a second round TKO win over David Alex Duarte at Island Fights 53

Yahya (5-2-0, 1-1-0 Bellator) lone win in the promotion came over Ash Griffiths via first round TKO at Bellator 191

Greyson (6-4-0, 0-2-0 Bellator MMA) is the only fighter of the released who didn’t get at least one win in Bellator MMA.
