Report: Bellator MMA Signs Weber Almeida

MMA

There is a new addition to the Bellator MMA bantamweight division according to MMA Fighting, who is reporting that undefeated prospect Weber Almeida has signed a multi-fight deal with the promotion. The report does not state how many bouts the multi-fight contract is for or any financial numbers related to the deal.

Weber’s professional MMA record currently sits at 1-0-0, with that lone victory coming over Bruno Senna at a Brutality MMA event in September of 2015.

The newly signed fighter may be best known as a longtime training partner of the Machida Family, in which Lyoto and Chinzo are both already a part of the Bellator MMA roster.

Despite being light on overall MMA experience, a newly signed Almeida is a six time Brazilian karate champion, a Pan American kickboxing champion and a bronze medalist at a karate world championship event in Scotland.

No word has been given at this time as to when Almeida is going to be making his Bellator MMA debut or whom that opponent is going to be when that time comes. Lyoto Machida is set to make his promotional debut this December in Hawaii, so there is a chance that fans can expect to see Almeida compete on that same card.
