Report: Brent Primus vs. Michael Chandler II Headlining December Bellator Event

A lightweight title fight is going to be headlining a yet to be announced Bellator event this December according to Brett Okamoto of ESPN as Brent Primus defends the gold against Michael Chandler.

Primus (8-0-0) is going to be making the first defense of his championship, which was won in the first meeting against Chandler at Bellator 180. Primus is also returning to action after a year-plus absence, as his last bout took place in June of 2017. Primus has seen just two of his eight professional MMA bouts go the distance, with those encounters occurring at Bellator 141 and Bellator 153.

Daniel Rodriguez vs. Neil Magny Scheduled For October

Chandler (18-4-0) has won two straight since the first meeting with Primus, having defeated the duo of Goiti Yamauchi and Brandon Girtz. Chandler also has a chance to make Bellator MMA history, as a win over Primus will give him the opportunity to become the first three time champion in the promotions history. Chandler is also competing for the third time in 2018, making this year his most active year since 2013.

The yet to be named Bellator event is scheduled from Friday, December 14 from a location to be announced with a main event to be announced. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, while broadcast plans have yet to be announced.
