Report: CSAC Removes Temporary Suspension From Aspen Ladd

Aspen Ladd is back in action this December at UFC Fight Night Washington DC, facing Yana Kunitskaya in a women’s bantamweight division attraction.

The fighter last competed in the main event of UFC Fight Night Sacramento, suffering a first round knockout loss to Germaine De Randamie. Besides being defeated at UFC Fight Night Sacramento, another issue Ladd had was that the fighter came in over 10% of her weigh-in weight, which is a violation of the rules set by the California State Athletic Commission (CSAC) and the competitor was temporarily suspended

Ladd has complied with the provisions set by the CSAC and the temporary suspension has been lifted by the CSAC.

"We put the note on after her last fight due to the tremendous rehydration she underwent," CSAC Executive Director Andy Foster told ESPN. "She went to some professionals after that experience, and I have read the reports. I think we needed to see some real weight loss in her -- not from dehydration, but real weight loss. She's been diligent and lived up to her obligations."

Now that Ladd has had the temporary suspension lifted, all roads to the bout against Kunitskaya are clear.

UFC Fight Night Washington DC takes place on Saturday, December 7 from the Capitol One Arena in Washington DC with Alistair Overeem and Walt Harris headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on ESPN.
