Report: Curtis Millender Faces Max Griffin At UFC 226

A welterweight division affair may be coming to UFC 226 according to Ariel Helwani of MMA Fighting as Curtis Millender faces Max Griffin.

Millender (15-3-0) is currently undefeated under the UFC banner, having defeated Thiago Alves by second round knockout at UFC Fight Night Austin. Millender also won two of four bouts during his time in Bellator MMA, with those wins coming over Johnny Cisneros and Steven Ciaccio. Millender has also held some regional MMA titles, as he is a former Fight Club OC Welterweight Champion and a former California Xtreme Fighting Welterweight Champion.

Griffin (14-4-0) has rotated wins and losses throughout his UFC tenure, with the last fight being a victory over Mike Perry at UFC On Fox 28. Griffin is also a former West Coast Fighting Championship Welterweight Champion, defeating Kito Andrews to win the gold in May of 2013. Griffin also returns to a pay-per-view card for the first time in almost two years, with UFC 202 being the last time he competed on such an event.

UFC 226 takes place on Saturday, July 7 from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada with Stipe Miocic and Daniel Cormier headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
