Dana White Announces Israel Adesanya vs. Jan Blachowicz UFC Light Heavyweight Title Fight

Israel Adesanya and Jan Blachowicz are headed to super fight territory, courtesy of UFC President Dana White.

White told the press that Adesanya and Blachowicz will next fight each other. TSN's Aaron Bronsteter shared the news on Twitter.

Adesanya was expected to fight Jared Cannonier had the latter beat Robert Whittaker at UFC 254. The former UFC middleweight champion earned a unanimous decision and put a screeching halt to those plans. Next week's UFC Vegas 13 headliner between Thiago Santos vs. Glover Teixeira was assumed to be a number one contender's fight at light heavyweight.

There is no confirmed date as of this writing as to when Adesanya and Blachowicz will fight. It will likely be contested at 205-pounds for the UFC light heavyweight title.
