Report: Daniel Rodriguez Faces Takashi Sato On August 22 UFC Card

A welterweight division attraction has been added to the recently announced UFC card on August 22 as Daniel Rodriguez faces Takashi Sato.

MMA Junkie first reported the bout, who’s spot on the card isn’t known at this time.

Rodriguez (12-1-0) is undefeated thus far under the UFC banner, having picked up wins over Tim Means and Gabriel Green. Rodriguez also competed on Dana White’s Contender Series Season 3, Episode 6, defeating Ricco Farrington by unanimous decision. Rodriguez has suffered a single defeat as a professional MMA fighter and that came to Victor Reyna at Combate Americas 19.

Sato (16-3-0) has won two of three in UFC competition, with those wins coming over Ben Saunders and Jason Witt. Sato has previously challenged for the Pancrase Welterweight Title, losing to Glaico Franca at Pancrase 297. Sato has picked up sixteen wins as a professional MMA fighter and eleven of them came by way of KO/TKO.

The recently announced UFC card is set for Saturday, August 22 from the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada with no main event announced at this time. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, while broadcast plans have yet to be announced.
