Figueiredo (20-1-1) and Moreno (18-5-2) fought to a majority draw at UFC 256 on December 12. The defending champion was deducted a point in the third round after landing an illegal groin strike on the Mexican-born challenger.

Figueiredo entered the first fight on a five-fight winning streaking, including a title defense over Alex Perez and two consecutive finishes of flyweight stalwart Joseph Benavidez. Moreno, on the other hand, entered UFC 256 on a three-fight winning streak highlighted by a first-round TKO of Brandon Royval.

UFC 263 is not officially set yet; however, it appears to be the calendar date coinciding with a June 12 event.
