Report: Eduardo Garagorri’s Cornerman Tests Positive For COVID-19, Fighter Pulled From UFC Vegas 11

A featherweight division attraction between Eduardo Garagorri and Mirsad Bektic won’t be happening at UFC Vegas 11 as Garagorri has been pulled from the card.

MMA Fighting first reported the news, as Garagorri was pulled from the card after one of his cornermen tested positive for COVID-19. Bektic is expected to remain in the card at this time, as UFC officials are seeking a replacement opponent for him to fight.

Bektic (13-3-0) enters the contest riding a two-fight losing streak. Those losses came against the dangerous duo of Josh Emmett and Dan Ige. Bektic, once a highly-touted prospect, has not earned a victory in more than two years. His last win was against Ricardo Lamas at UFC 225. Bektic’s three losses as a professional MMA fighter all came in UFC competition and the fighter won 11 straight before suffering his first-ever defeat.

UFC Vegas 11 takes place on Saturday, September 19 from the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada with Colby Covington and Tyron Woodley headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which streams live on ESPN+.
