Tonight’s UFC 248 card is going to be moving on with one less bout because a women’s strawweight division encounter between Polyana Viana and Emily Whitmire has been pulled from the card after Whitmire was reportedly hospitalized earlier today.
Marc Raimondi of ESPN first reported the news, but the exact nature of what’s affecting Whitmire isn’t known at this time, but she did miss weight for the now canned fight against Viana.
Viana would also take to Twitter to issue a statement on Whitmire’s situation:
“ I just heard tha Emily is out of the fight with me today. I also heard she had to be taken to the ER. I hope she is alright and I wish from the bottom of my heart that she recovers from whatever it is that she is suffering from.

There is no word at this time as to whether the bout will get rescheduled or if the fighters will go their separate ways.
