Gabi Garcia returns to action for the first time since her Rizin weight cutting controversy according to MMA Fighting when the Brazilian faces Veronika Futina at Road FC 47.
Garcia (4-0-0-1NC) is going to be competing outside of Rizin for the first time in her professional MMA career, which began in December of 2015. Garcia has fought two pro wrestlers during her professional MMA career, defeating Seini Draughn (Lei D’ Tapa) and Yumiko Hotta. Garcia has only seen one of her five professional MMA bouts go past the opening round and that came at Rizin 1 in April 2016.
Futina (0-0-0) is going to be making her professional MMA debut in this fight and she also has no amateur MMA experience to speak of. Futina is a four time Russian Hand To Hand combat champion and she trains with the Gladiator Fight Team out of Russia. Futina also trains alongside Oksana Gagloeva and Anna Malyukova, who have both fought Garcia in Rizin.
Road FC 47 takes place on Saturday, May 12 from the Cadillac Arena in Beijing, China with no main event at this time. Fightful will provide quick results of the event when it is completed, which streams live on Youtube.
