A women’s flyweight division attraction has been added to Bellator 222 according to Newsday as Heather Hardy is going to be in action against Taylor Turner.
Hardy (2-1-0) is returning to action for the first time in over a year, last competing against Ana Julaton at Bellator 194 in February of 2018. Hardy has spent her entire professional MMA career competing in Bellator MMA, starting with Bellator 180 in June of 2017. Hardy has suffered a single defeat as a professional MMA fighter and that came against Kristina Williams at Bellator 185.
Turner (1-4-0) enters the contest while in the midst of a four fight losing streak and she hasn’t picked up a victory in over four years. Turner has some experience competing against Bellator MMA veterans, as she fought Rebecca Ruth at a Shamrock FC event in 2015. Turner’s lone professional MMA win came in her pro debut at Valeor Fights 16 in November of 2014, defeating Katelyn Dykas by second round submission.
Bellator 222 takes place on Friday, June 14 from Madison Square Garden in New York, New York with Chael Sonnen and Lyoto Machida headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which streams live on DAZN.
