Report: Ian Heinisch Off UFC 250, Cornerman Reportedly Tested Positive For Coronavirus

This weekend's UFC 250 card has taken a hit because Ian Heinisch has been pulled from a middleweight division bout against Gerald Meerschaert.

MMA Fighting first reported the news, while Aaron Bronsteter of TSN would report that Heinisch was pulled from the card for precautionary reasons as one of his cornermen reportedly tested positive for the coronavirus. Meerschaert is expected to remain on the UFC 250 card, as UFC officials are seeking a replacement for him to fight.

Meerschaert (31-12-0) has won two of his last three under the UFC banner, with those wins coming over Trevin Giles and Deron Winn. Meerschaert has seen his last four fights go into the third round, with two of those four bouts going the distance. Meerschaert has picked up thirty one wins as a professional MMA fighter and twenty three of them came by way of submission.
