Report: Jessica Andrade Exits Brazil Ahead Of UFC 249 Due To Possible Travel Restrictions

Former UFC Women’s Strawweight Champion Jessica Andrade and former UFC Women’s Strawweight Champion Rose Namajunas are set to meet for a second time at UFC 249.

The coronavirus has caused a plethora of issues worldwide and Andrade’s home country of Brazil is one of those areas affected by the pandemic. Brazil has already enacted travel restrictions from those entering the country from other locations and MMA Fighting reports that Andrade has already exited Brazil.

Andrade reportedly left Brazil early in case her home country enacts restrictions on those traveling out of the country, which they haven’t done at this time.

There is a lot of concern overall for the UFC 249 card, which doesn’t have an official location at this time and one half of the main event in UFC Lightweight Champion Khabib Nurmagomedov may be off the card due to Russia’s travel restrictions.

UFC 249 takes place on Saturday, April 18 from a location to be announced with Khabib Nurmagomedov and Tony Ferguson headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
