That victory did not come without consequences for Emmett, who suffered a myriad of injuries during the bout.
Brett Okamoto of ESPN reports that Emmett suffered a complete ACL tear, a partial MCL tear, a focal impact fracture of femur, damaged cartilage and swelling.
Gutted for Josh. I asked him on Saturday if he was apprehensive about what an MRI would show, and he admitted he was pissed about it. Wish him a very speedy recovery, obviously. I do think he'll come back to a big fight, whenever he's healthy.— Brett Okamoto (@bokamotoESPN) June 22, 2020
There is no word yet on how long Emmett is going to be out of action for, but more should be known as the fighter gets the aforementioned injuries treated.
Emmett, who is currently ranked #8 in the UFC Featherweight Division, has won five of his last six fights under the UFC banner.
