Report: Kamaru Usman vs. Jorge Masvidal 2 Is “Likely” Next

It appears as if UFC welterweight champion Kamaru Usman will get his wish in having a chance to finish Jorge Masvidal, something he wasn't able to do the first go-around.

"They're pretty close, is what I'm told," ESPN's Ariel Helwani said of a potential rematch between Usman and Masvidal.

The Most Popular Prop Bets Placed During MMA Matches

Following successfully defending his UFC welterweight title in the form of a TKO victory over top contender Gilbert Burns at UFC 258, Kamaru Usman called out a man he's already beaten...Jorge Masvidal.

“We got this little street thug calling himself Jesus. He’s thinking he is Jesus," Usman said of Masvidal during his UFC 258 post-fight interview with Joe Rogan. "And you know Joe, we tried to make that fight several times. They tried to make that fight. But he kept backing out. The only reason this man took the (previous) fight is because it was on six days notice and he had a built-in excuse. And he is still running his mouth talking about he broke my nose and stepping in on six days. Give him three weeks and he is going to do something. Guess what? It’s not done. I will give you a whole training camp. I guarantee you won’t sign on that dotted line because this time I’m going to finish your ass.”

Usman took a lopsided unanimous decision victory over Masvidal at UFC 251 to retain his title, however the fight was made on less than a week's notice due to Usman's original (and future) opponent, Gilbert Burns testing positive for COVID-19.
