A women’s bantamweight division attraction has been added to UFC Fight Night Hermansson vs. Weidman as Karol Rosa faces Julia Avila.
MMA Fighting first reported the bout, but its position on the card isn’t known at this time.
Rosa (12-3-0) is undefeated thus far under the UFC banner, having defeated Lara Fritzen Procopio at UFC Fight Night Shenzhen. Rosa will come into the contest riding a three fight winning streak and she hasn’t suffered a defeat in over a year. Rosa has suffered a total of three losses as a professional MMA fighter and one of them came to a UFC veteran in Larissa Pacheco.
Avila (7-1-0) is also undefeated thus far in the UFC, defeating Pannie Kianzad by unanimous decision at UFC 239. Avila has suffered a single defeat as a professional MMA fighter and that came at Marciea Allen at Invicta FC 29. Avila is a former HD MMA Women’s Bantamweight Champion, defeating fellow UFC fighter Nicco Montano to win the gold at HD MMA 7.
UFC Fight Night: Hermansson vs. Weidman takes place on Saturday, May 2 from a secret location with Jack Hermansson and Chris Weidman headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which streams live on ESPN+.
