A women’s strawweight division attraction has been added to UFC 238 according to MMA Junkie as #9 Karolina Kowalkiewicz is going to be in action against #13 (Tied) Alexa Grasso.
Kowalkiewicz (12-4-0) will enters the contest while in the midst of a two fight losing streak, dropping bouts to the duo of Jessica Andrade and Michelle Waterson. Kowalkiewicz has previously challenged for the UFC Women’s Strawweight Title, losing to then champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk at UFC 205. Kowalkiewicz hasn’t picked up a victory in over a year, with that last win coming against Felice Herrig at UFC 223.
Grasso (10-2-0) is going to be returning to action for the first time in over a year, last competing at UFC Fight Night Chile in May of 2018. Grasso has rotated wins and losses throughout her UFC run, with the latest bout being a loss to Tatiana Suarez at the aforementioned UFC Chile event. Grasso has seen seven of her professional MMA fights go the distance and the fighter has picked up wins in six of those encounters.
UFC 238 takes place on Saturday, June 8 from the United Center in Chicago, Illinois with Henry Cejudo and Marlon Moraes headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
