A women’s flyweight division attraction has been added to UFC 244 according to MMA Junkie as #2 Katlyn Chookagian is going to be in action against #4 Jennifer Maia.
Chookagian (12-2-0) has won four of her last five under the UFC banner, with those wins coming over the four pack of Irene Aldana, Mara Romero Borella, Alexis Davis and Joanne Calderwood. Chookagian has competed a total of seven times in the UFC and all of those encounters went to the judges scorecards. Chookagian has previously competed on four UFC pay-per-view cards and the fighter holds a 2-2-0 record in those bouts.
Maia (17-5-1) enters the contest while in the midst of a two fight winning streak, defeating the duo of Alexis Davis and Roxanne Modafferi. Maia is a former Invicta FC Flyweight Champion, defeating Vanessa Porto to win the gold at Invicta FC 16. Maia has seen her last seven bouts go the distance and it has been almost four years since the fighter got a finish.
