Report: Khabib Nurmagomedov To Finish UFC 249 Training Camp In Russia Due To Coronavirus

The coronavirus has impacted the world as a whole and the MMA community wasn’t exempt from the pandemic. 

UFC Lightweight Champion Khabib Nurmagomedov, who is expected to defend the gold against former UFC Interim Lightweight Champion Tony Ferguson at UFC 249, has been affected by the coronavirus as well. Which is why the champion has opted to finish his training camp for the upcoming fight in Russia, according to TASS. Nurmagomedov had been training at American Top Team (ATT) for the fight, as former two division UFC champion Daniel Cormier revealed on UFC Unfiltered that Nurmagomedov and his team were permitted two hours of training time per day at the gym to prepare for the bout.

There is no word yet on where next month’s UFC 249 card will go down yet, as the original location of Brooklyn, New York was canned after the governor announced a banning of mass gatherings due to the coronavirus
