A women’s strawweight division attraction has been added to the May 23 UFC Fight Night card as Mackenzie Dern faces Hannah Cifers.
MMA Fighting first reported the bout, who’s spot on the card isn’t known at this time.
Dern (7-1-0) is looking to rebound from her first loss as a professional MMA fighter, which came to Amanda Ribas at UFC Fight Night Tampa. Dern hasn’t picked up a victory in almost two years, with that last win coming over Amanda Bobby Cooper at UFC 224. Dern has picked up seven wins as a professional MMA fighter and four of them came by way of submission.
Cifers (10-4-0) has won two of four under the UFC banner, with those wins coming over Polyana Viana and Jodie Esquibel. Cifers is winless when competing on “Fight Night” cards, having suffered defeats at UFC Fight Night Denver and UFC Fight Night Raleigh. Cifers has picked up ten wins as a professional MMA fighter and half of them have come by way of KO/TKO.
UFC Fight Night takes place on Saturday, May 23 from a location to be announced and with a main event to be announced. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, while broadcast plans have yet to be announced.
