Magomedov (16-1-0) is making his Bellator debut in this bout and does so on the strength of a three fight winning streak. Magomedov is also competing for the first time in over two years, with his last bout happening in November of 2018. Magomedov has suffered a single defeat as a professional MMA fighter and that came to UFC veteran Petr Yan.

Mattos (12-1-1) is also making his Bellator debut in this bout and the fighter is also competing for the first time in two years. Mattos has suffered just one loss as a professional MMA fighter and much like Magomedov, that loss came to the aforementioned Yan. Mattos has competed 14 times as a professional MMA fighter and just three of them went the distance.

Bellator 254 takes place on Thursday, December 10 from the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut with Ilima-Lei Macfarlane and Juliana Velasquez headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on the CBS Sports Network.
