Report: Marina Rodriguez Injured, Off UFC Fight Night Fortaleza

Marina Rodriguez has suffered an injury and has been pulled from the upcoming UFC Fight Night Fortaleza card, where she was supposed to battle Alexa Grasso.

A report from MMA Fighting states that a hand injury knocked Rodriguez off the card, while Grasso is expected to remain on the card as UFC officials are seeking a replacement opponent to fight. There is now word yet on when Rodriguez is expected to return to action, but more should be known as her injury heals up.

Grasso (10-2-0) has rotated wins and losses throughout her UFC tenure, with the latest bout being a loss to Tatiana Suarez at UFC Fight Night Chile. Grasso has competed twelve times as a professional MMA fighter and seven of those bouts have gone the distance. Grasso has picked up ten wins as a professional MMA fighter, but she has yet to pick up a victory by way of submission. Grasso has been with the UFC for over two years now, but has exclusively competed on “Fight Night” cards.

UFC Fight Night Fortaleza takes place on Saturday, February 2 from the Olympic Training Center in Fortaleza, Brazil with Marlon Moraes and Raphael Assuncao headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which streams live on ESPN+.
